Our Nifty Needles SYNC Group continues make a difference in our community through sewing and quilting projects. Our recent gatherings in March and April brought together dedicated volunteers who poured their hearts into creating quilts, blankets, nursing pads, and more for those in need.
March Meeting: Breaking Records with Heartfelt Giving
In March, the group surpassed all expectations by producing an incredible 66 quilts and blankets, alongside over 100 nursing pads for St. Mary’s NICU. With more than 300 yards of fabric generously donated, the energy and commitment were palpable. Volunteers signed thank-you cards for two groups supporting this effort.
Distribution plans:
- Real Choices received 21 quilts
- Veterans Alliance was gifted 5 quilts
- Children’s Cabinet gained 25 quilts
- Fernley Hope for Women received 14 quilts
- One quilt was reserved for an upcoming baby shower
This meeting was not just about crafting; it was about giving hope and warmth to families and individuals facing challenging times.
April Meeting: Continuing the Mission of Comfort
April’s gathering saw 12 ladies come together to create 24 beautiful quilts, which were distributed as follows:
- Real Choices received 10 quilts
- Children’s Cabinet got 8 quilts along with 3 children’s pillows
- Fernley Hope (Women’s Hope) was given 6 quilts
Additionally, three baby afghans were turned in and will be held for Camp Pendleton Marine Base’s upcoming baby showers in June.
