As the spring semester wraps up at the University of Nevada, Reno, we at SYNC are already looking ahead to the fall, eager to continue our support for the students at InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at UNR! And that means getting ready for one of our favorite annual events: the Cookie Packing Party!
Last fall, this event was a tremendous success, and it’s something we look forward to doing again this fall. The ladies of SYNC poured their love (and baking skills!) into creating an abundance of delicious, homemade cookies. Then, we had the joy of joining forces with the InterVarsity students to package cookies along with Christian bookmarks. These cookies weren’t just a snack; they were a warm welcome, handed out at the InterVarsity booth to new students arriving on campus. The incoming UNR students absolutely loved them, and it was wonderful to see new students connect with IVCF!
But for SYNC, this cookie packing party is about so much more than just a sweet treat. It’s a tangible way for us to support and empower InterVarsity Christian Fellowship on campus. Our contributions, both through our baking and our time, directly help InterVarsity invite students to learn about Jesus and study the Bible through their various activities and meetings. The impact of their work is truly inspiring. We were thrilled to hear that InterVarsity doubled in size this past year! We rejoiced with them as we heard incredible stories of students who were saved, baptized, and courageously shared their powerful testimonies throughout the winter.
This partnership is a core part of our mission at SYNC – to seek our niche in Christ by serving and supporting those who are making a difference. InterVarsity’s dedication to reaching students and fostering spiritual growth aligns perfectly with our heart.
So, as the summer approaches, we’re already starting to brainstorm our favorite cookie recipes for easy packing and transport.
