Christmas Greetings from the Director

By: Pam Korgan
‘When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”’ John 8:12

It’s Christmas! We adorn our homes with lights to show the world Jesus has told us His light shines in the darkness and the darkness has never overpowered it. We put up a tree decorated with celebration and memories in honor of the tree God used to bridge the gap back to Him. At the top, we place a star symbolizing the star of Bethlehem or an angel to remember the angel who said, ‘”Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.’” Luke 2:10 We give gifts remembering Jesus is the greatest gift, enjoy special food of celebration, and gather in His name to honor and worship our King and Friend.

Our joy comes from the God who is with us at all times, Immanuel. Knowing our Savior will never leave us or forsake us rests on His promise that ‘In His presence is the fullness of joy.’

‘You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is the fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.’ Pslam 16:11
‘You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’ Acts 2:28

SYNC friends, this world has its ups and downs. Thursday we celebrated a wonderful luncheon, providing a beautiful afternoon and funds for the coming year. Saturday we mourned with fellow Americans who lost loved ones and property due to devastating tornadoes. ‘I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this life we will have trouble, But take heart! I have overcome the world.’ John 16:33 Sometimes our homes are full of laughter with children and family. Sometimes our homes are a place for tears with sickness and loss. Nevertheless, our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. No matter our circumstance, we can ‘Rejoice in the Lord always. I say again: Rejoice!’ Phil 4:4

In this world, but not of it, ‘Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.’ Hebrews 12:2
Based on the solid foundation of knowing God is in control and His way is perfect, gives us faith to trust through the hard times. ‘As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him.’ Psalm 18:30
‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’ Romans 15:13

May your hearts and homes be filled with JOY this Christmas!!!
