SYNC recently held one of our favorite events of the year: a cookie bake-off! This year, we were thrilled to invite the students of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) into our homes for an afternoon of flour, fun, and fellowship. Arriving in the kitchens of SYNC ladies, groups of InterVarsity students baked all Saturday afternoon amid laughter, stories and flour on the floor. Some even had time for a little outdoor fun. Many students are away from home, missing home cooked meals and cookie baking with grandma. Welcoming kids into our homes, sharing love and friendship is a way our ladies can serve Jesus. The ladies provided dinner for all hosted at Covenant Presbyterian Church. After dinner the stiff competition began! Everyone judged every cookie, finally deciding the peanut butter, chocolate with chocolate drizzle cookies were the blue ribbon winner. Thank you ladies – this was tons of fun!
