April 27, 2023

Our SYNC Group is excited to be a part of a service project where we’ll be creating fleece blankets for children in need. These blankets will be added to tote bags that will be given to kids who have been removed from difficult family situations by Washoe County Social Services and the Police Department. We’re happy to have the opportunity to spread a little love and comfort to these kids who are facing a challenging time in their lives.

This project involves several events:

Blanket Project Preparation

On Tuesday, May 2 from 1 to 3 pm, we will gather at the home of Pam Butters to prepare the materials that will be used for making fleece blankets for the Blanket Project.  We will be cutting a fringe into the fleece material that will be turned into blankets.  Please bring fabric scissors if you have them!  Please call Pam at (775) 775-0997 to RSVP or for more information.

Blanket Making Outreach Event

On Thursday, May 11 from 2-4 pm we will join with the ladies at the Volunteers of America (VOA) Center to tie the fringe on blankets that will be given to children that are removed from difficult family situations. We will gather at the VOA Center at 300 Sage St. Please give Andi a call at (505) 690-4724 to RSVP, for more information. Please consider bringing a snack to share.
