On January 23rd, 2025, our dedicated quilting group of Nifty Needles quilters came together for an amazing day of creativity, community, and compassion. We are thrilled to announce that we completed an impressive 32 quilts, each crafted with love and care, ready to be delivered to those in need.

Here’s how our quilts will be distributed to those in need:

  • 6 Quilts were given to Real Choices Fernley
  • 6 Quilts were given to Real Choices Reno
  • 15 Quilts were given to Children’s Cabinet for Foster Children
  • 5 Quilts were given to Camp Pendleton Marine Base for Baby Showers

Our commitment to supporting the Marine base extends further, with a total of 10 quilts promised. Five have been delivered, and another five will follow next month. This ongoing effort is made possible by my daughter-in-law and her group, who are passionately working on projects for active service personnel.

In addition to these efforts, we assembled a hand-made Queen size yoyo quilt. This beautiful piece will soon be completed and used to raise funds for charity. We’re considering donating the proceeds to ALS research or providing sewing machines for women in Africa. Last year, we proudly purchased four sewing machines, and we’ve already sent a check for our first one this year.

The gathering was attended by nine wonderful women who shared tea, conversation, and prayer. It was a heartwarming experience that reminded us of the power of community and the joy of giving.

Thank you to everyone involved for your dedication and generosity. Together, we are making a difference one stitch at a time.
